Jacob and Elizabeth are regulars here at Lofty Pursuits, they love to watch Wes make candy. When Jacob wanted to ask for her hand in mariage, he decided that he wanted to do it with candy.

While Elizabeth was watching, wes made a special batch of our Image Candy with a diamond ring in every piece. When Elizabeth finally figured out what the art was (it is not obvious at first when the candy is being made), Jacob pulled out the real ring and asked her to marry him.

The answer was Yes.

It was a lot of fun being part of this moment.

Lofty Pursuits where people are happy. Open until 10pm. See you at Lofty.

The Lofty Pursuits Marching Band got its first donation of a musical instrument recently. Angela here donated her Baritone Horn that has not been played since she was in high school. It came with the name Bubba, and Greg here painted a face for Bubba on the bell this week. Bubba is singing of course. Thank you Angela for the donation. If you have any old instruments that might need a little love, please consider sharing them with the banned. By the way, we are marching in the parade at the Blue Crab Festival.

Only at Lofty Pursuits, open until 10pm, see you at Lofty.

Valentines day starts early at Lofty Pursuits. Right now in fact. We have made batches of our Valentines Day Assortment of Image Candy. Hand made here in Lofty Pursuits. Our new (well old, they are from the 1800's) rollers of hearts have made a heart shaped hard candy.

We also have Valentines Day Balloons (Yup, we've done balloons since we've moved to Timberlane) and cards. A one stop shop to get the unique things for this day.

And of course we're also the best place to take your sweetie for sweets. We have our special Valentines Day sundae, and the flavor that is only here at Valentines Day, "Cupids Delight" is out to enjoy (White chocolate, pink sprinkles).

We are open until 10. Bring just your love or everyone you love. The special stuff is here until Tuesday Night.

See you at Lofty.

Sweet day is a lovely little holiday. In this tradition a small sweet (a cookie, a few candies) is given to children, or romantic interests sometime on the 14th. The tradition holds that a Mishka, a small pink bear, delivers sweets on the night of the 13th from a giant cart or truck during the darkest part of the winter to cheer us up on these short days.

Winter is here, and Lofty Pursuits will be celebrating sweet day with Wes making more candy at about Saturday (he'll start about 2pm). Today (Janurary 7th) Wes will be making some special sweet day candy, with little pink bears in each piece. So come by Lofty Pursuits and have some sweet and celebrate with us, and Pinky the bear this Sweet Day.

We are open until 10pm every day but Sunday. Sunday we're open until 9pm.

The Lofty Marching band will have it's first rehearsal of the year at Lofty Pursuits at 7:30 on Wednesday the 30th.

Greg is getting the equipment ready, he has been working on turning the Sousaphone into a Dr. Sousaphone. We are playing "You're a mean one Mr. Grinch", so this seems appropriate and a good way to keep Greg out of trouble.

Do I hear you say "I want to play, march or do flag stuff in the parade?" Well worry not, just show up with your instrument at 7:30 on Wednesday or contact us if you can't make it and we'll be happy to have you in. The music we have chosen is easy, it will be fun times, and there will be free ice cream for musicians.

Even if you can't come, watch us downtown in the Winter Festival's parade on the 3rd, and the Market Square parade on the 10th of December.

See you at Lofty.

Remember Saturday is small business Saturday.
