I always like to look at other peoples photos of the store. I get used to seeing things, and with these photos I can see them fresh through the eyes of others. This photo by Reyhana shows our flavors in the cabinet. It is a sight I take for granted, even thought it always looks so good.

We got the extra dipping freezer working in the back room. This brings our servable flavors up to 40. We have put the Soy and the NSA (No Sugar Added) flavors in the back since they like a slightly warmer temperature and some different handling than our normal ice cream and sorbet. We'll have a sign about this up soon, but for now, know that we now have 4 soys and 4 NSA's at all times.

I've had Sprecher Root Beer since we first opened. I love this rootbeer that comes in kegs from Milwaukee. I love the rootbeer floats it makes.
Well. I start thinking, why can't we freeze it. So I shipped some down to the folks who make our ice cream, and we get back a few gallons of Sprecher Rootbeer Sorbet.
Now to figure out what to do with it?
Do we put a scoop of it in a vanilla ice cream soda for an inverse rootbeer float?
Do we layer it in a glass with vanilla ice cream for a deconstructed rootbeer float?
Do we just eat it strait?
Do we cover it with banana syrup (don't laugh at this one.).
Well in any event, we're have it hiding in a freezer in the back room, so for the short term, if you want to try for it, you have to ask for it. It's only for those in the know for the next few days. Try it out and let us know what you think.

Here we are, mid year. Half a year away from Christmas, and sometimes we have cravings. Well we have those cravings for you. We got one tub each of Peppermint Candy and Gingerbread Cookie ice cream out to celebrate this half way point. It's Christmas in July at Lofty Pursuits. Come on in and enjoy the cold during the heat.

We have had a lot of requests for Butter Brickle ice cream. It took some time, but we were able to research this flavor. Apparently wikipedia has a page on it :).
The answer is that this flavor name is a trademark, currently owned by the Hersey company. A few firms make ice cream under that name under licence. Mind you anyone can make the flavor, not anyone can call it butter brickle. Our Carmel Toffee Crunch is the butter brickle flavor combination. It may not be exactly like the original company's, but it is the same base. Please come in at let me know if this flavor is close enough to please you fans.
To bring back some memories (And to explain the photo with the post) let me quote Wikipedia:

Todays new flavor is SuperHero. Many companies make a superman ice cream, but it's usually just a flavor (like raspberry) with three colors in it. This is a super premium version. It has Lemon Chiffon, Strawberry, and Blue Moon as it's colors. It tastes like Fruit Loops, complete with a crunch from the colored sprinkles.
Today we finally got our back room dipping cabinet working. What this means is we have gained space for another 8 flavors, bringing our flavor selection up to 40!
We are using this extra space to expand our NSA (Nope, not National Security Agency ... it's No Sugar Added) and our Soy (Vegan/Lactose free) selection.
We will now have at all times 4 NSA flavors (We curently have Chocolate, Vanilla, Cookies & Cream and Coffee) and 4 Soy Cream flavors (Chocolate, Vanilla, Butterless Pecan and Mint Chocolate Chip). You can add these 4 Vegan flavors to our expanded selection of 4 sorbets that are up front (also vegan) and we now stock 8 Vegan flavors.
Don't forget about our Vegan Ganache and our Vegan whipped cream :)

Our latest commissioned flavor is Grapefruit Sorbet. This is amazing on a lemon soda, like our green river and it's an amazing freeze when made with our champagne sorbet. All in all a great new flavor at Lofty Pursuits.
