About a month ago we won the Tally Award as the best toy store in Tallahassee. The certificate arrived this week and I hung it this morning. Thanks everyone!

Just wanted to drop a note. This weekend is the 2nd anniversary of the move to Market Square for Lofty Pursuits. I need to say, it has been an amazing ride. In this two year period, ice cream and candy has been added, we've been written up in the Ny Times, The Huffington Post, Entrepreneur Magazine, as well as most of the local media, we won the Tally award for best toy store and we've made a ton of new friends.

Now to look forward.

Our KickStarter campaign to fundraise for the Victorian Candy equipment we hope to get is going well. While I am writing this, we are less than $200 from our goal, with 2 days to go. It looks like with your help it will happen :) Thanks to everyone. If you have not seen it, please check out the campaign here.

Also our candy was written up on the blog Sugar Loco. Sugar loco is the blog for everything sweet, this is a big deal and we are thankful they liked our candy. It is looking like 2012 is going to be a great year.

Open until 10pm every day but Sundae. On Sundae we are open until 9pm.

See you at Lofty.

Tom Flanagan of WFSU just did a story on Kickstarter Campaigns. He got the amount we were raising wrong (We need $5850, not $10,000) but beyond that it was a good story about supporting local projects and how kickstarter works.

So if you have the time visit our Kickstarter page and check it out.

Tom's report is linked on the bottom of this post. Check it out :)

We have started a Kickstarter campaign to raise funds to rescue some vintage candy making equipment from a candy store founded in the 1840's in Cincinnati.

A Kickstarter campaign is an all or nothing campaign to let the public support interesting projects in an all or nothing fundraising approach. If we don't hit our goal, we get nothing and the backers do not get charged. There are thank yous you can get for supporting this project, so click on the link, watch our video, and if you feel it is worth it, support Lofty Pursuits getting this bit of candy history.

Thanks.

P.S. Please spread the word.

On November 23rd, 2011, Lofty Pursuits is proud to announce the birth of Theodore Blaise Raley to Wes and Amanda at 3:17am 8-lbs 9-oz 21.5 in. Everyone is well, and is resting at the moment. We're still going to make candy while the Raley's are enjoying some home time, so be easy on Uri and Greg as they try to do together what Wes can do by himself :)

The winner of our two sundae's for the closest guest is Paula Gruber. Way to go Paula!

Open until 10pm. See you at Lofty.

Just wanted to let you know that the Wes and Amanda's baby has decided to be a bit late. Amanda is braving it through, but she is a week and a half late now. Still time to get into the baby pool. (at least the deep end of the pool :)

Please share: A free scoop of ice cream to all current or former members of our armed forces on the 11th or BOGO on anything from the fountain for Veterans, so bring your family. Thanks for serving our country.

We should have candy making going on from about 2 to 9 if Wes and Amanda have not had their child yet. Oh and it is not too late to get into the baby lottery. Win Sundaes for two if you are right.
